How many of you Canucks fans have friends/acquaintances that are Habs fans? Don't you hate them? Don't you wanna kick them in the crotch, pull off their Habs jersey and wipe your butt with it? Yeah, me too. They love to pull that "we've won more Cups than you" card and we have nothing to throw back at them. They are cocky. Ok, so not ALL of them are that bad, but generalizing is fun.
There really
isn't all that much of a rivalry here except that it's 2 Canadian teams going at it, and whenever the Habs visit Rogers Arena, there are a horde of fans in blue white and red in the stands. Annoying buggers. They are the people we know that litter this province. Damned Original 6.
I'm sure here will be several Canucks family members at this game. Roberto Luongo, Alexandre Burrows and Maxim Lapierre hail from la belle province, and hopefully, along with the rest of the team, put on a hell of show, because it has been a long damned time since we have done that there. January of the year 2007, actually. See the stats below.
I love hearing Habs fans booing their team. If you think Canucks fans are hard on goaltenders/the team...nah, I think Habs fans are worse. I know it to be true. I saw the Canadiens play the Sabres live several years ago (when Linden played there). It was a thrilling experience. I noticed a constant procession of cheers and boos throughout that game. It was unreal. A schitzophrenic atmosphere. But you know what? That is a passionate fanbase. I think that given their seniority in the NHL it makes sense. And really, with that in mind, plus their multitude of Stanley Cup wins, they have earned the right to be cocky. Cocky and proud. But they still annoy me. It is what it is. We gave the world Bryan Adams. They gave us Celine Dion. Enough said. On the flipped side of the coin, both fanbases riot. Too soon? How about I go with the Pot/Poutine routine? Quite the combo I hear.
The only night of the season the Canucks play in beautiful Montreal. It's a special event when they do, especially if they can finally get a win there.
By the way, I hate the Habs, but I sure love the Province of Quebec. Magnificent. If you have never been there I highly recommend checking it out. Especially in the fall when the leaves change color.

Man, so much hate for the Habs and their fans...
I love the Habs, view them as one of my “Well, if the Canucks can’t win….” teams for sure. PLUS Montreal is a rad city PLUS their jerseys are boss PLUS THEY HATE THE BRUINS TOO. I feel this forever makes us friends, or in the case of tomorrow night, frenemies anyways.

The Habs
won one 4 round Cup. Great team, sure. History, you bet. I used to hate them, and can now admire the talent they had as a kid.
But fuddle duddle them and their fans. I know a couple, and they are the nicest in the world when they go to the Rog’ on in their Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge.
