It's time to play "WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE FAIL?"

                           Cat_fail-14136_medium

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it's everyone's favourite game that I just made up... "WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE FAIL?"  The game where you, the faithful followers of Nucksmisconduct, determine which example of fall-flat-on-your-face after douchable boastery filled you with the most chortles.

Today's contestants:

Dan "Crapdildo" Carcillo

vs.

Darcy "HolycrapIsuck" Hordichuk

Star-divide

Carcillo_medium

Our first candidate, Mr. Crapdildo, had this to say about our Canucks after signing with the Blackhawks over the summer:

I'm actually pretty excited to play them because there are a few guys there that I think played a little bit outside of their shoes... I think I can keep most of those guys in check when we play them this year.

And for all his lovely talk, in his first game against the Canucks, Crapdildo managed to earn 21 PIM, which resulted in a powerplay goal for the Canucks and at one point taking his own team off the powerplay.  What he was doing on the ice during a Blackhawks powerplay remains a mystery to me, but I aint complaining.  Oh and Crapdildo's Blackhawks lost the game 6-2.

Meanwhile, our second candidate, Mr. Holycrapisuck, had this to say about his grand plans to disrupt the Sedins and show Gillis why he's needed prior to playing the Canucks for the first time as an Oiler:

It's great when I get into a game like this because they are the guys you want to try to abuse on the ice. We'll see how they respond.

And this is what he did in his 5 seconds of ice time in the game:

Oh and HolycrapIsuck's team lost that game 4-3.  And now he's been out 9 games and counting with an injury.

So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, who's today's winner on WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE FAIL?  Please vote, and let us know why in the comments.

Hordichuk by a mile, in my books

The fact that he managed to injure himself on his first shift after all that talk takes the cake.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.

Hordichuk

For all Carcillo’s idiocy, he can actually prove to be offensively competent when he’s not looking for the fastest way to fuck up.

I don’t want either of them though. And I dream of day in the NHL when there are few enough teams that guys like this don’t even have a job.

Blackhawks bleed Red & White.
We are all Canucks...including Toews, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, ...need I go on?

looks like

hordisuck is going to win this in a landslide
and i agree the visuals on hordi are more laughable
but carbomb’s words were stronger, i thought, and his team got totally raped in that game because of penalties, completely nullifying any supposed worth that a “tough guy” is supposed to bring. I think from a big-picture, 60-minutes perspective, 1/3 if which he spent in the box or in the dressing room, Carcillo is worthy of votes!

Talking about fails

I would expand the scope to other ex-canucks, such as Ehrhoff.

As much as I liked him, I love to see him fail in Buffalo. He is a team worst -6 at this point, while Edler is picking up all his ex-points. Nice fail, so far.

I voted for Carcillo

just because of the scale of his fail. Hordi beaked off to a single reporter. Carcillo took time out a press conference to let us in on his diabolical plan, which crashed and burn in a manner that left Wile E. Coyote embarrassed for him.

by Kent Basky on Nov 9, 2011 10:21 AM PST reply actions

hmmm… nice fail there, completely leaving out why I voted for him not to mention the duplicate post. ironic. anyways, I said I voted for him because of the scale of his fail, mentioning it in his press conference, getting kicked out of the game. It was spectacular. Hordi mentioned his to a reporter then got chumped. Great fail, but Carcillo’s was legendary (and not over yet…)

Carcillo...

…For the same reason. Plus, his ability to take penalties at the stupidest times makes him one of my favourite opponents to mock.

Plus, he best exemplifies the pic at the start of the post: failing, but bewildered.

“But… This used to work… Why is it not working now? Why? WHY?!?”

Well they can ask us how it worked with the Byfuglien experiment…..

Debatable.

Byfuglien was playing as a forward, not as a defenseman, and he played as a forward prior to playing for Atlanta.

Gino Odjick' best year...

…Used in front of the net on the power play. Better than putting him at the point, but it still raised eyebrows. Ed Jovonovski was there for a few times, to.

I hate Carcillo and his stupid face and his stupid comments, and I'm happy his stupid strategy blew up in the Blackhawks' stupid face.

That said, the pure GOLD of Hordichuk going out to make an impact, lasting exactly 5 seconds, and then hurting himself on a stupid attempted at a high, late hit…. Too awesome. Just amazing. Love it. Stay golden, Darcy.

I voted Hordy

because it was so awesome that Keith Ballard’s first thought to protect himself is to throw a hip check.

Carcillo was loony, but that 14 minutes on one play was a bit of a “rep” call.

Hordy as well

Because HAHA 5 seconds.

Actually, I still have no idea what Carcillo did or was supposed to have done that got him kicked out. Then again, it seemed like everyone – refs included – was just interested in getting the 3rd period over with as quickly as possible Sunday.

Work hard, play harder, rest easy.

by jwolf0 on Nov 9, 2011 2:05 PM PST up reply actions

I think that was one of those things on the ice that happen with the amount of un mic-ed up talking

The puck was there, and then Lui covered it. I am betting that when that happened, the ref must have said something like “Alright Carcillo, thats enough…” or something like that.

He sort of lunged toward Lui around that time, and then was buried by Rome. Its the only thing that makes sense to me as to why they would allow two pokes to the head…and still penalize it that way.

The extra two because he “started it”. The 10 because he was Carcillo. We get some similar rationalizing from NHL refs from time to time here having Burrows ( who gets dumped, tripped, bumped, buried in front after the play more than almost anyone in the NHL without very many calls for it ) and Lapierre ( who has got a couple 10 min penalties for similar stuff )

Its the price that you pay for the good things those players bring as well. The guys here have ( and I know this is heresy to a Hawks fan!) at least tried to talk less. Reps are what reps are. But Carbomb has a rep that far exceeds either player mentioned above.

Its been earned just as much as the same guys mentioned above!

You have to go with Hordichuk. To get destroyed with a hipcheck five seconds into your first shift, against your former team; who basically dumped you (or sent you to their farm team, if you prefer) to Florida… and this is after trying to preach his usefulness as an enforcer for the young kids.
