To quote CHBC News out of Kelowna:

Capozzi, part of an Okanagan founding family, played professional football with the Montreal Allouettes and Calgary Stampeders. He went on to become General Manager of the BC Lions, taking the team to a Grey Cup victory, and created the Vancouver Whitecap soccer team. Capozzi also assumed control of the Vancouver Canucks in the 1970’s.

Capozzi was co-owner of the original Calona Wines, Capri hotel and shopping centre and served as a director for Expo ’86. He was a member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame and was an Order of BC recipient.

Now THAT is an impressive resume. Capozzi succumbed to tongue cancer. Rest in peace. (Thanks to Temujin for the heads up).
