Time for a Line Change

Stay connected for news and updates

The Ottawa game was a snoozefest. Bad passing, poor scoring chances, low percentage shots. The lines have not been working. Sedins and Hansen has produced a couple of goals to help Hansen's stats but it has not woken up the Sedins. Kesler and Burrows are fast together, but that line harkens back to the days of them being the "checking" line. No production there. Hodgson has played on every line. I grant you that AV has tried a lot of lines so he shouldn't socff at these lines, when he reads this......and I know you read this AV!

1st line

Daniel - Hank - Kesler

Some of you are clamoring for Booth to play with the Sedins. I think it's more important to get Kesler scoring. He fits perfect with these two on the PP so why not. The Sedins always want to pass and Kes always wants to shoot.Perfect combo.

2nd Line

Booth - Hodgson - Burrows

Speed, 2 of them can pass the puck. Booth shoots from anywhere. They all dig in the corners. Defensive responsibility might be an issue.

3rd line

Higgins - Lappy - Hansen

Higgins and Lappy enjoy playing together. They are fast, they like to hit and dig in the corners. Wait Hansen does those things as well! But westy99, there is no playmaker on this line. Who fucking cares? These guys will drive to the net and drive their opponent crazy. Oh...they can play defense as well.

4th line

Volpatti - Malhotra - Weise

I feel bad putting Manny here, especially when he makes $2.5 million/yr, but he has struggled. He adds defensive strength to this line. As long as this line doesn't allow goals I am happy.

Now I am sure some of you will point of a flaw in my logic when it comes to line juggling, but I will point to the 10-9-1 record and pitiful 5 on 5 scoring. AV....buddy...friend...pal. Give these lines a couple of games to see if it can ignite Booth and Kesler, oh and those red-headed boys on the first line.

As for the defense.....please stop putting Rome and Alberts out together. It scares me.
