I wrote a piece on the history of Johnny Canuck and his affiliation with the Vancouver Canucks for my hockey blog. After my research on Johnny Canuck, I have a new appreciation for Canadian history, culture, and Vancouver Canucks team history. To answer your comment left on my blog, (I also copied the same replied in case you check backed). There was no documented information about Johnny from the 1970s until his timid return in 1995 as a postage stamp. I searched many Canadian references and came up with nothing. I hope that answers your question!

Cool post. I love the Johnny Canuck logo, so its nice to look back on its history. It has inspired me to change my profile pic : )

I know the fans are excited for their chances in a few years (and probably with good reason) but I question how they will manage to hold on to all of these hot young players – either because of the cap or because the players want to play somewhere else if the team still seems like its not a contender a few years from now
