You have to think that Alain Vigneault is going to ice a few goons as the Oilers are a bunch of thugs in their bottom 6. The Oilers are averaging over 21:00 in penalties in their first 2 games.
The Oilers have only played once since Sunday, a 2-1 SO loss to the Wild on Thursday.
This one is going to be better than the Red Wings game. It's going to be way more physical and violent. Plus, the Canucks are finally going to manage to score the first goal of the game and take this one.

I’ve seen them run the time off and send them on their way. Refs just let that happen.
Renny is excited to measure his team tonight, not on how far away they are from “this team” but how close, while Hall is a bit more “its about us and what we do”.
I predict that kid line has a few chances, but get their butts, at least two of the three, dropped to the ice on hits from Hansen and or Higgins. Hell, maybe even Silent G. Dude’s got 1 hit! LOL

the fact we are cycling through people
is the problem. The second line has no identity. Hodgson has been great all things being equal, but otherwise it’s been a revolving door, with Sturm and Sammy looking anywhere from pedestrian to downright dissapointing.
And I’m concerned, because it all comes down to Kesler and if we are relying on one guy… Hodgson has done an admirable job and I think he and Kesler will be sick together, but we are looking at some bad top-6 depth here. It’s still early, but I don’t like how this is looking, unless we have some breakouts…

I’m not sure I count Raymond “in the top 6.” I will when he can string together 2 consecutive good seasons, but as it stands 2009/2010 stands as a contract year push rather than a top 6 year.

They are not producing like they would with #17…then yes, a bit.
But to say the 2nd line is not good enough, I have to disagree. They have seen a couple defensive lapses, but thats a chemistry thing too.
In the offensive end, CoHo and Higgins have been some of the most consistent players not named Sedins, right?
Its pretty tough to replace Kes’. But Silent G has definitely made it a case of at least treading water. They just need to finish some chances. Like tonight!
