Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

With Aaron Rome shelved for about a month, it's Tanev's turn to see the bright lights of the NHL. Given his 1 goal and 9 points in 39 AHL games this season it's fair to say that he will play bottom 6 minutes if he gets a shot with the Canucks.
To get to know Tanev a little better I had asked Ron Goldberg from Rochester Institute Of Technology about the late-blooming d-man last June when the Canucks acquired him.

He has been great for the Moose

this year. The team has been cycling through defenders but Tanev has been a fixture on the blue-line.

Cool, hopefully we get a chance to see what he can do with the big guys.

Damn it, I didn’t mean at the expense of losing a D-man though (Alberts).

Yeah, shoulder injury in first couple minutes of the game. It’s that time of year again…somebody get Salo out of here so he stops giving everyone the boneitis!

I'm so excited

to see our defensive prospects in the show! Connauton, Tanev, Sweatt, Sauve, Oberg …. the list goes on. If we sign Ehrhoff to a big contract next year, we might have to resort to a smaller, more financially friendly rookie contract!

You mean...

if we sign Bieksa.

two sips from the cup of human kindness and I'm shitfaced, just laid to waste.

I see

Interesting things on the Twitter regarding Shirokov and recalling…

I am still trying to find confirmation

but his agent Jay Grossman tweeted it so I think he may know… http://twitter.com/#!/Jay_Grossman

also found another route: that @ehornick was wondering about this Province article by Botchford, when Grossman replied with the tweet about Shirokov getting the call up.

zenon konopka as a 4rth line center would be nice for face offs

I heard them suggest it on the TEAM, would be a great idea IMO.

He’s tough and is surprisingly very good at faceoffs.

Also, he only makes $600K.

So what is he worth in a trade? 5th round pick?

conspiracy

Is it me or alberts + rome injured at the same time is a sign of salo coming? Way to go,all the cap issues solved.

by duru2000 on Jan 17, 2011 8:37 AM PST via mobile reply actions

Except Salo probably won’t be ready until after the All Star break. Hardly more than a coincidence.
