One of the few highlights of the night: Ballard crushes Ruslan
What? That was a lackluster effort from the Canucks if there ever was one. Wojtek Wolski scores his first as a Rangers player? Bahhh!!! A power play goal too yet. There was a point where the Canucks were outshooting the Rangers 9-3 but that all changed in a hurry. New York outshot the Canucks 27-20 in the 2nd and 3rd periods and really out-hustled Vancouver on the PP, PK and even-strength to earn a 1-0 victory. Was Henrik Lundqvist great? Nope. Cory Schneider was though. He just didn't have any help from his friends in this one.
-6 shots each from Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky led all players in that category.
-24:49 ice time from Alexander Edler was the most of any player.
-A half-assed effort from the Canucks and a solid defensive effort from the Rangers was the bottom line. The Rangers played and skated with a vengeance. If the Canucks play this way against the Capitals on Friday they are going to get killed.
