Narrow grip benches of 335 lbs? Holy shit…

Sick.

I never NG bench but I assume it’s more difficult than standard? I’ll try it next workout…

I think he’ll make it on the 4th line unless he really blows it in camp/pre-season.

I used them in my routine, just to target the muscle from another angle. But I’m no where near 335…hell now I have something to shoot for (in my next lifetime)

335 lbs bench press is pretty standard for a 250 lbs pro athlete though, assuming he made that lift at his heaviest.

I’m just happy I can crack 2 plates at my size.

He does it narrow grip though…that was to be harder right?

LOL

A must read from Vanity Fair's "Sarah Palin ; the Sound and the Fury by Michael Joseph Gross. No matter your politics...and this is the tamest quote!

She has a horrible temper, but she has gotten away with it because she is a pretty woman." (The friend elaborated on this last point: "Once, while Sarah was preparing for a city-council meeting, she said, ‘I’m gonna put on one of my push-up bras so I can get what I want tonight.’ That’s how she rolls.")

I forgot to try NGBP last night but if I had to guess it might just be 10-20% more difficult.

Tried some tonight. It’s more difficult because it concentrates a lot more on your triceps than your chest (as in a normal grip). Pretty solid exercise that I’ll be sure to include in my routine occasionally.

I like everything I heard. Strong, determined, and fast?

Works for me…

He's our 4th line energy guy

I bet the coaches just give him 4 or 5 min a game to skate as fast as he can and hit guys… I bet with his size/speed/strength, that he will be pretty intimidating. I like this addition. Thanks for the vid missy.

Yeah, and with a full season under his belt,

He could even be up on the third!

I’m definitely stoked to see him play!

I gotta say, he sounds like a very thoughtful and determined dude. I’m liking the Oyster!

Ores and Desbiens

I’ll say it again, they are the 4th line wingers for everyone else to beat. They are in all my rosterbations. Sometimes even on the third line. They have the potential to be our “destroyers” – the men that make defense boys cry and give up the puck.

by Vokail on Aug 30, 2010 11:07 PM PDT reply actions

Classy

I mean, Ores has pretty much drawn attention to his strengths, but in such a way that it doesn’t come across as being cocky.

Kinda like a verbal resume of sorts. Stating facts to make himself look good, without the whole “I’m so great” attitude.

Raised his rep in my eyes at least. Can’t wait to see him play.

by jluglue on Aug 31, 2010 12:32 AM PDT reply actions

I agree

He’s very refined (for a hockey player) in the way he speaks. Must be that Finance degree!

Especially the way he talked about his weight when he was heavy into body building, said he was too thick. I like that he can recognize that.

He seems like a very smart guy – which is a great combination with his other attributes. Fast, strong, hard-hitting and smart. Means he shouldn’t get too out of position to lay someone out, or sacrifice the play for a hit.

I really like what I’m hearing.

Depending on his finish, I could certainly see him being planted in front of the goal on the second-unit.

In the mean time, the bottom six are really shaping up nicely.
