Have to agree with PV…if you can trade a guy that is going to cost big bucks nest year like the Hoff…at a high on value, together with Juice for say a Top 6 forward and a defenseman, that works for me.
And Tambellini is a signing that we are overlooking now that will be a training camp dark horse.

Just depnds on who’s willing to pay for it. What if you get a young star in the making, with a reasonable contract, you’d go for that… wouldn’t you?
A prospect over a sure thing? Not really. Bieksa is the redundant one. If we have to move Hoff, move him at the deadline when teams will be more apt to get stupid about the exchange.

According to NHLnumbers.com:
Canucks have $3.1M in cap space after the Hamhuis signing. They have 9 F, 8 D and 2 G signed. They still need to sign Raymond, Hansen, Glass, Bolduc, etc.
If/When they move Bieksa, they’ll have $6.85M which is plenty of room.

They are trying to use theur business buddies to challenge the right of the people to use the petition against the HST…saying its federal.
If they ram that through with some helpful judge, look out.
People will go the recall route next. And I think we only need to recall 5 or 6 of the lying fuckers to change the gov’t!!!
Of course when you replace an invisible tax for a visible one, people are going to be upset. If you take time and look at the HST, it’s really not that bad. It’s revenue neutral. The gov’t did a terrible job rolling it out but it’s not a bad tax.
I have been doing a bit of a sirvey in the businesses I frequent, and they seem to just be adding it to the existing price.
If that “invisible tax”…the GST you are talking about, has been replaced…what happened to my 5% rebate on the price tag?
It has not happened. Businesses lobe it because they aren’t OBLIGATED to give the public back a dime.

I’m guessing minimum salary, but one-way. Gillis is clever. He’ll pay the callups $500,000 to play in Manitoba. Other teams have two-way contracts where they’re like $600,000 or with bonuses for NHL but $200,000 for AHL.

At the end of day, if we could get Mitchell back for cheap given his concussion issues, that’d just be icing on the cake. We could have one of the deepest D-corps in the league if that happens. Maybe not a clearly-defined No. 1 D pair, but a solid 6-man group from top to bottom.

That versatility is not to be frowned upon.

What a day it’s been. I’m so pumped for next season, and I really like our chances of contending for a conference title. Hawks should be good still, even though they’ve definitely gotten weaker. The Sharks could still contend for top spot, but their defence is a little lacking I think. I’d expect the Wings to be back in the race for first place again, too. L.A is a team on the rise and will only get better, so we still have a few challengers next season. Should be fun!
