Broad Street Hockey (Flyers) vs Second City Hockey (Blackhawks)
This is one of the best Finals I have seen in a long time. I like it better than the 2 Detroit vs Pittsburgh series over the past 2 years. IMO it has all of the required elements that make me love hockey. Skill, speed, physicality, war....
The heat is now on the Hawks to win at home. Gone is the talk that the Flyers were doomed against these guys. The heat is also on Captain Toews to produce through all the adversity. You almost have to think that the winner of tonight's game takes the series. The home team has won every game. If Chicago can take this one they become huge faves to finish it in 6 or 7 regardless. Home ice advantage is now so important.
A few notes:
-Matthew Dirt from Second City Hocky wonders with Chicago getting the last changes tonight will coach Q actually split up Kane and Toews? Scott Morrison has just tweeted that Q will split them up.
-Some crazy cool stats about the Flyers from Broad Street Hockey: The Flyers are 9-0 in games 4-7 in these playoffs, Chris Pronger needs 1 point to tie a Flyers' playoff record for most points by a defenceman, and Daniel Briere needs 3 points to tie Brian Propp's old record for points by a Flyer in the post season.
-Hawks and many people still complaining about what Chris Prongers gets away with in terms in trips, slashes and cross checks.
-Andrew Ladd is nursing a sore shoulder but may still play tonight.

You know, with all the focus on ‘match ups’ and the line changing and the f* ups that have resulted from it all, I really hope coaches get back to just rolling lines through and not worrying about the matchups in the future…just play hockey, for chrissake!!
Hanging at home this morning for this one…I agree, this has been a great series thus far.
This is a Flyers defensive clinic by the which they have been doing throughout the playoffs. I think the matchups are important. Look at Toews’ futility.
Let’s see how the Hawks respond tonight. All the pressure is on them. It ain’t easy being The Chosen Ones.

I’m still certain the Hawks win the cup. I may eat my words later, but hypothetical future word-eating Beantown can go fuck himself. Cup = Chicago is a done deal.
Remember the seeds of doubt all around the media after each time the Canucks won their game against Chicago? I certainly remember. The Hawks said “oh no you don’t”… and they will again.

Which do you think is more likely to get Chicago players to take a large home-town discount: Hawks lose cup, players want another crack at it, or Hawks win cup, players want to stick around out of joy/loyalty?
Because if I knew the answer to that, it would impact which team I would cheer for in this series :) I want whatever result makes it more likely for the Hawks to disintegrate!

I was in Pearson
Waiting for a flight home (booked layover so that I could watch the whole game), and definitely jumped out of the chair in the bar and yelled.

Yeah a friend of mine was at Vancouver International
and he said the plane wouldn’t leave until the game was over, and they were patching through the game on the TV screens in the plane.
I was at home watching the game by myself, my girlfriend was working and I was sick. I jumped up and screamed until I was hoarse. Ran around my house, knocking things over, screaming at my bewilidered family members.
