More On Chris Tanev

PrintCanucks.com has a great piece up today on Tanev, whom the Canucks signed out of Rochester Institute of Technology. Dave Gagner has been watching this guy since he was 11 years old. Tanev is currently about 6'2" and 182 pounds. He intends to bulk up this summer and try make the Canucks this fall.
Early indications are that Vancouver has found a gem. The Canucks are comparing him to Christian Ehrhoff. I hope that is the case.
In case you missed it, I had a chance to talk with someone from RIT about Tanev a couple weeks ago. That person was heaping praises on Tanev as well. That interview can be found here.

Although the Canucks prospects development camp isn’t slated to commence until the week of July 5, Tanev is already in Vancouver working out every day with Canucks strength and conditioning coach Roger Takahashi.
that’s what you like to see with your young guys. if he’s anywhere near ehrhoff he’s a great pickup, equivalent to the first vancouver traded away this year.
