Canucks May Trade 1st Round Pick
After acquiring Steve Bernier and Andrew Alberts the Canucks lost their 2nd and 3rd round picks in this year's draft. Gillis may remedy that.

I saw the words ‘may’ and ‘trade’ and for a split second thought that MayRay had been traded and that made me sad. I should learn to read properly to avoid such worries. Although I would like to see him signed soon.
trade May Ray now
need more depth on D. Cannot wait to draft a D and expect him to play. cannot wait for FA to play out – no clear UFA’s available that will fit the top-pairing that other teams have.
I definately see what you’re saying, and agree that trade seems like the best way to get the depth we need. I just don’t want it to be MayRay, I think he has played well and I just generally have a soft spot for him. Besides one of my kittens is called Mason and it’s just not cool if he’s not a Canuck anymore.
Pulling a David Poile
I see.

Would you take a 2nd and 4th?

Screw the Wings.
Sure if it’s an early 2nd… not that much difference between a 25th overall pick and a 35th-40th overall pick. Especially if you’re a team with supposedly strong European scouting.

Colorado’s 2nd round pick is 47th, just past middle of the pack.

in fact, we should be talking to Carolina, they have 3 2nd-round picks!

Yup. Draft outta your own backyard. The Leafs don’t do it enough and neither does the Nucks. Of course, if your pick is up and a European is quite better than a NA kid then pick the Euro, but I think the team needs to venture away from Europeans when possible.
