Breaking sticks? What? There had better be a slider in the options menu to turn that shit off! It's annoying enough in real life and I don't want it in the game. The rest of what I see in this glimpse looks pretty sweet though, gotta say.
Puck Daddy's Sean Leahy had a post up a couple days ago showing a leaked photo of the cover...who's on it? Not Henrik Sedin. No it's Jonathan Toews.
Release Date: September 14.

Well, they should give you the option of playing with wood, so you don’t have your stick breaking all the time.
Frankly, stick manufacturers should be friggin embarassed that their sticks breaking all the time are a key part of the new release of NHL11.
Imagine if a golfer’s club/iron broke every 30 shots, or roughly 3 or 4 times during a 18-hole course.

Players can switch back to the wood sticks if they like. But most don’t. So that says something, don’t it?

They’ve had different cover athletes for the Swedish version of the game in three of the last four seasons (Lundqvist for 07, Alfie for 09, and Backstrom for 10). Although it probably doesn’t get the press and prestige that they get in North America, I think it’ll suit the Sedins fine as they are pretty humble and laid back guys.

Sony didn’t show a preview of NHL 11 during their E3 keynote.
But if this game’s 3D capable like their other new upcoming releases, Imma go apeschit.

Not problems, from what I've heard.
Just trying to load this thing to the brim. Damage modeling, exact detailing of outside, inside and underneath the cars, adding 3D.
One of the main designers even raced the 24hr Numburgring (sp?) to make it perfect.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m as pissed as anyone it’s been delayed this long, but I have faith it will be worth it.

you can
break your stick, give your stick to a guy without a stick, and play the puck without a stick
does that make the game more fun or more annoying?
for example
is the “give stick away” the same button as pass or something so you accidentally give your stick away or did they give it its own button?
Do players’ sticks break so often that it needs its own button?
I there are enough free buttons to accommodate a “give player your stick” button. And I’d assume it would only work if a player actually didn’t have a stick, and only if you were right up next him. So unless you like passing when right next to a guy without a stick you’d probably not have to worry.
At least that’s what I assume.

…wonder what this means Montreal is doing? Keep Price, get a guy like rayzor and go two goalies? Move price and bring in…someone? Management in habsville knows something the Blues don’t (ie: Halak is going to ask for 9 mil a year and get it from the KHL)? EA does a bang up job with their NHL series
Too bad they routinely drop the ball with all of their other franchises. I’m definitely looking forward to NHL 11. I imagine a hilarious scenario where every man on ice’s stick has been broken and they’re all skating around, kicking the puck back and forth.
