Please indulge a Portland Winterhawk fan. In 1998, Marian Hossa was one of the leaders of a Winterhawk team that won the Memorial Cup. Late in the 3rd period, Hossa suffered a terrible knee injury in a knee on knee collision in the neutral zone. With the game tied, the ensuing 5 minute major penalty didn't yield anything for the Hawks. With Hossa watching from the sidelines, his teammates scored the game winner in OT. Hossa was pushed out on the ice seated in an office chair and was given the Memorial Cup. For us Winterhawk fans, it was gratifying to see Hoss lift a cup on his own two feet.
