With all this yapping going on about "Canucks Day" and jinxes..blah blah blah, I thought I'd show you an image that was done up in Chi-Town before the Preds-Hawks series. Does this rival the Canucks Cup Parade from last season or what?
I think Sarah Spain had the best insight on it. If anybody from Second City Hockey has a link to their take on it please let me know. I can't find it in their archives.

I agree, this is definitely good locker room fare. I love stuff you can go to as a “fuck them” kind of inspiration
"Playin hurt, baby that don't faze me. I don't got time for pain. The only pain I've got time for is the pain I put on fools who don't know what time it is!"
yep
already 500 comments at FFH, we have almost all the fanbases covered.

Expect lots of Preds fans to be rooting on the 'Nucks in the next series.
I’m a Preds fan, here to stir things up a bit.
I’m sure most of you are already aware of the dirty hit by Ho$$a on Hamhuis in game 5. Enter this URL, scroll down a bit, and watch the video clip to see what Sopel did to Erat after game 5 was over (it’s at the 1:28 mark, just south of the “Stanley Cup Playoffs” logo):

Dirk Hoag of OtF posted it at ontheforecheck.com this morning, as most of us didn’t notice it at the time.
Lots of the ‘Hawks fans keep talking about is how they made Luongo cry last year; here’s to hoping it’s Niemi who’s crying at the end of the next series.
Wow. WTF was he thinking? Welcome, LuvthePreds, and hell yes I support your cause!

Wow...just watched that.
"He came to to hit me and missed and went over the boards, and his skate came up and hit me in the side of the face," said Henrik, rubbing a red scrape high on his cheekbone. " I think he shaved my playoff beard. It was close." after Game 6. vs. Kings.
How did Sopel not get something even resembling a phone call from C. Campbell in the ivory tower.
Meanwhile Bryz just stands off another Scum rush…fack…Holmstrom kind of should be going there….or no penalty on it.

That's easy to answer
Colon Campbell is a mental midget.
That would imply that Campbell has some kind of mental capacity. I’m not convinced of that.

Come on, it’s sopel…he played here for years…u know as well as anyone else from Vancouver that he’s got the IQ of a used bunk sock. It’s why no one in Vancouver except fat cougars were sorry to see him leave.
"Hope you like pancakes, Norway..." Morgan Freeman
"you'll be playing in england the rest of your career" Sir Alex Burrows
That's incredible
Totally classless. Wouldn’t expect anything less from that guy.
Knights, Canucks, Dolphins, Jays and Raptors all the way.
well...no.
Sorry to disagree. Fiddler is an agitator, but I have always disliked the comparison.
Fiddler had 11 and 8 the last two years…we all know Burr had more than that.
Tenacious little bugger…doesn’t have Mr Everything’s hands or hockey sense.
And Lidstrom puts them up by two again….fack.

I just knew someone was gonna call me out on their respective production.
I meant the comparison more in the versatility of their skill sets (including agitating).
He’s a lesser Burrows, how about that?
Poutine & Meatballs
cool...
I didn’t mean anything by it. I heard a few commentators on TSN and whatnot try to make the comparison, and it just didn’t fly with me.
I know Burrows played with the Twins and all, but he has 9 SH goals in the last two years….and 13 in his career.
Vernon had 5 in the last two and 7 overall.
Would love to have him on the Canucks though! A Pure Hell line of him and Kes would turn the Terror Twins into Triplets…

Jebus. I’ve been wondering about that.

Good luck, Sharkies. The juggernaut’s back.

the bandwagon is moving
the “Fuck Detroit” party at FFH is moving over to Fear The Fin, although a few will be coming here as well.

Hawks fan's general response
That stupid mural is an abomination, and (thank GOD) it was white-walled over shortly thereafter. I’m afraid i can’t posts links very well with my crappy internet service, but i commented on SCH and hopefully someone will come over shortly to link to our long, pissed off rants about the damned thing.
I swear, if we ever find out who painted that thing…….(I personally think it was a Wings fan)
My favorite interpretation of the mural (from a Flyers fan – not a direct quote):
“the mural shows Toews skating past the Cup as the Flyers win it. The pig nose came from him getting pummelled by Carcillo earlier in the game.”

I heard the mural was a Budweiser Ad
Leave it to St. Louis
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene."
Here's a SCH link
that captures some of the thoughts on the Toews mural and other marketing thinks done this year. Thankfully, the Toews mural was white washed about three days after it was completed.

Ah, But how does that saying go...?
Oh, yeah: “Once and internet porn star, always an internet porn star!”
That's not a Hawks fan
itās a Nucks fan watching Kane beat BoobyLu with that sweet backhander for a hat trick in Game 6 last year.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene."
Haha
Like I stated below, I suck at replying

No problem
DICK! (Only kidding. Just stealing the name you used on us yesterday on SCH)
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene."
I just saw the SNET story where the reporters asked AV about the Canucks Day.
He quoted himself. It was hilarious. Paused a second and said " I don’t care". Laughter all around. He did remember to throw in " It is a great honour "while everyone was still giggling so as to not piss off the mayor.
God I love that guy. His pressers have been gold.
"He came to to hit me and missed and went over the boards, and his skate came up and hit me in the side of the face," said Henrik, rubbing a red scrape high on his cheekbone. " I think he shaved my playoff beard. It was close." after Game 6. vs. Kings.
I thought I could get in some light-hockey reading here at NM after work today, then I ran into the shit storm known as FTR and the post that the Edmonton writer came up with. It took me well over 30 minutes to scroll through all the comments.
While Bertuzzi’s actions are certainly unjustified, I find the attack on a passionate, (largely sensible) fanbase quite irresponsible. Finding the most despicable action a PAST member of the organization has done, and chronicling the most over-reactive of the crazy local fans, is akin to inciting angry responses, which he has done a masterful job of.

Man...picking a favorite
…between the Sharks and the Wings is like picking a favorite between Celine Dion and Hall and Oates: It would be best for the world if neither existed.
"Hope you like pancakes, Norway..." Morgan Freeman
"you'll be playing in england the rest of your career" Sir Alex Burrows
Contrast material
if there were no Celine Dion’s in the world how would you know what you did and didn’t like?

On that note, you have to remember that the winner or that series takes on the winner of this series, so this question is to both Nucks and Hawks fans, who would you want to face next round? The Wings or the Sharks?
No question-Sharks
The Hawks really handled them this year.
