Why, oh why can’t the NHL be like the NBA and expedite these series a little bit. If some of the next round’s match-ups are set, get to playing. These week long gaps are bullshit.

Please allow me to adjust my pants, so that I may dance the good time dance, and lead the onlookers and innocent bystanders into a trance.

Agreed

although they are good if say your D is a little banged up and your top PK guy is close to returning.

God no the NHL is too much like the NBA as is thanks to Buttman. We don’t need anymore NBA influence in it, LOL.

I agree these long waits can be murder.

Considering how much more physical hockey is than basketball, I have no problem with the extra time to rest for the players.

That works out perfectly for my anniversary dinner on Friday. Thanks NHL!

by Sean Zandberg on Apr 27, 2010 4:36 PM PDT reply actions

but if the game fell on Friday

your significant other would understand, right?

i mean, c’mon, it’s the playoffs!

I think sometimes its to schedule the whole thing with all the 2nd rd teams known.

That doesn’t happen until Wed. As long as the Bulls lose tonight, there should be no holds on the UC any more.

The team earned the rest. Like Dank said, its not like the 2 weeks that they had ( and that he thought hurt a little ) last year.

BTW…I like Botch waaaay more now that I see he is a fellow Hunter S Thompson fan. That portrait of Gonzo on his page is one of Ralph Steadman’s best.

"He came to to hit me and missed and went over the boards, and his skate came up and hit me in the side of the face," said Henrik, rubbing a red scrape high on his cheekbone. " I think he shaved my playoff beard. It was close." after Game 6. vs. Kings.

Good call on the building/arena availabilities.

Any idea of times?

Should be able to see the Saturday (Sunday here) one. And if the every 2 days thing happens again there’ll be a Friday (Saturday here) next week at home for game 4 which will be awesome

by andrew21nz on Apr 27, 2010 5:59 PM PDT reply actions

Chicago home games will usually be 4:00-5:00 PST

From memory, weren’t the Chicago games at 5:30 PST last year? I seem to remember they were at a good time to hit the bar after work!

by British Canuck on Apr 27, 2010 6:07 PM PDT up reply actions

yeah, Chicago is central time. 1 hour behind PST. Who knows though

by Sean Zandberg on Apr 27, 2010 6:09 PM PDT up reply actions

So many time zones confuses me. I know to take off 8 hours and add a day for Eastern so I think it’s take off 5 and add a day for PST…. that means 11 or 12ish. Canucks home games are usually at 2pm my time, Chicago home games ones earlier?

by andrew21nz on Apr 27, 2010 6:30 PM PDT up reply actions

That is a fair guess. I’ll let you know ASAP

by Sean Zandberg on Apr 27, 2010 6:32 PM PDT up reply actions

Cheers mate. I think you should start publishing the times in NZST too :p

I guess we’ll find out after the Caps lose

by andrew21nz on Apr 27, 2010 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions

well, I don’t have enough space for that! haha

by Sean Zandberg on Apr 27, 2010 6:58 PM PDT up reply actions

I’ll leave the math up to you :)

by Sean Zandberg on Apr 27, 2010 6:58 PM PDT up reply actions

No worries, I’m getting used to it now, it just throws me off switching between PST, EST, and whatever the others are or when daylight saving starts/ends here or there

I’m doing a statistics degree, you’d hope I could handle it…

by andrew21nz on Apr 27, 2010 7:07 PM PDT up reply actions

yeah, that sounds familiar.
doesn’t matter to me, though, i’ll still be in class Monday during the game.
