hank/dank/bank = best line in the nhl
according to this tsn article. the author (scott cullen) does some semi-sophisticated statistical analysis of all the lines in the nhl at 5 on 5 and when the numbers were crunched to this point in the season hank/dank/bank came out at the top of the list, topping the big lines from washington, chicago, san jose and, well, every other team.
also of note is that raymond/kesler/samuelsson is ranked 8th on that list, which is a big reason why the canucks are where they are imo. pick your poison nhl, no other team has 2 completely separate lines in even the top 18 combos. (the caps have 2 different wingers playing with ovechkin/backstrom at 2 and 3 on the list, and the stars 2nd line is the 19th best, and that's the only 2 teams with 2 entries in the top 20.)
what i found shocking were the pretty anemic 5 on 5 numbers of san jose's big 3. clearly they do a lot of damage on the powerplay because their shot differential in particular is pretty sad for players of that calibre, especially when held up to the example of the sedin line.
so, yeah, the sedins (and the rest of the canucks) are having a pretty good year i'd say.

Yup Jumbo Joe loves the PP. He’s just not gritty enough 5 on 5.
Man...Boston DID know what they were doing.
I don’t get it with Joe. He could dominate, but he seems to do it just when he gets mad.
For instance, the best he played in the playoff last year was in the last game, where he had a fight and was physically engaged.
Nice to see for the ’Nucks.
Maybe AV is floating Raymond on the 3rd to make that line go. It was good in the loss.
Kes has some chemistry with Demo, and Grabner can shoot.
3 lines? Really pick your poison!
Murphy ; "You finished with the Twins against Nashville, and AV elected to keep you guys together for today, were you happy with the decision?"
Mikael Samuelsson ; " I was happy with it...Oh yeah. Sure"
The Bruins didn’t get much for him, though. Sturm, Stuart and Primeau. All they have left now is Sturm and Ference (from trading Stuart/Primeau).

I don’t know anyone who thought the Bruins got full value (or anything near it) when the trade happened. A lot of GMs were pissed about it, but missing that trade was their own damn fault for not calling…
I remember that too.
The Bees lost the trade…thats what I meant. That they wanted to get rid of him bad enough that they were willing to take the loss…

Boneheaded
trade by Boston, esp not asking around to get full value, brutal.

Well I got the pistols so I'll keep the Pesos
Yeah that seems fair
Terrible trade.
I remember the day that happened, I actually laughed out loud to myself for about 5 minutes.

You laughed out loud to yourself? That must have looked and sounded strange.
