The Devil's Went Down To Georgia

This is probably just a rough draft, I may tweak it later when I'm feeling more creative....  Hope you guys like it!

The devils went down to Georgia, they were looking for an athlete to steal.
They were in a bind 'cos they was way behind: they was willin' to make a deal.
When they came across this young man sawin' on a hockey stick and it was hot.
And the devils jumped down from their jet plane and said: "Boy let me tell you what:
"I bet you didn't know it, but we're hockey players too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, we'll make a deal with you.
"Now you play pretty good hockey, boy, but give the Devils their due:
"I bet a salary of gold and a bunch of old souls, 'cos I think we'd better suit you."
The boy said: "My name's Ilya and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your deal, and you won't regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

Ilya you tape up your stick and play your game hard.
'Cos hells broke loose in New Jersey and the Devils played their card.
And if you win you get this shiny cup made of silver.
But if you lose, to Toronto you will be delivered.

The Devils owner opened up his briefcase and said: "Let's seal this deal."
And he pulled a contract from his book as he showed an evil grin.
And Ilya pulled his hand across the papers before he set down the pen.
Then a team of players cheered and it sounded like something you wouldn't want to miss.
When the Devils are finished, Ilya said: "Well we'll win that Stanley Cup.
"But if this team sits down and doesn't pull their share, then this deal is done"

Fire in the North, run Rangers, run.
The Devils are in the house of the risin' sun.
Kovalchuck on the top line, been payed out some dough.
"Philadephia, does your goalie stop pucks?"
"No, New Jersey, no."

The Devils bowed their heads because they knew they couldn't be beat.
They laid that contract on the ground at Kovalchuk's feet.
Ilya said: "New Jersey, if we've been doing well, just come on back at the season's end."
"I told you once, you're gonna to want to sign me, I'm the best that's ever been."

And he scared the Islanders out of New York, run boys, run.
