Mikael Samuelsson has a mild concussion. Will miss Wed game at least.

Matt Sekeres on Twitter. Given the cautionary way of dealing with concussions nowadays, you can probably expect him to miss Saturday's game against Tampa Bay as well. So, Bolduc stays.

so if mayray is healthy again

this makes our likely lines:

Burdin
May-Kes-Tambo
Torres-Manny-Jank
Perrault-Bolduc-Glass

Or is Glass 3rd line instead of Jank? Gotta be Jank based on last game, no?

by Beantown Canuck on Dec 6, 2010 1:07 PM PST reply actions

Or…if Mase is still sick, and even if he is not.

Jank back to the 4th…Bolduc back to the ’Peg for a “conditioning stint”…aaaaannnd

oh you guys~

I don’t know what’s sillier, that you’re suggesting they’re ready, or that you’re suggesting they’re saviors.

My sarcasm button was broken!!! Meant to be that.

Cody coming up for a game or two …to see where he is at…might not be that bad though…would it?

it would not be terrible for him to come up and get his feet wet, but I don’t think he’s a 4th line guy, and the other three lines are really tight for center.

by Wisp on Dec 6, 2010 2:01 PM PST up reply actions

I could see him centre-ing Kes and Tamby ( if Mase is sick, or out )…with Kes taking all the important draws.

I was suggesting for Sammy, because it seems offense for offense, you know?

they seem committed for Kes’ line to be speedy. wasn’t speed one of Coho’s draw backs?

as for a sammy replacement, sammy is also very checky. can Coho play that roll?

by Wisp on Dec 6, 2010 2:07 PM PST up reply actions

I think people are forgetting

that when CoHo was drafted he was the premier two way forward in the OHL. This isn’t your typical rookie who needs to learn to play both ends of the rink. He already has that in his game. He is also a VERY smart hockey player. IMHO he is ready to play in the NHL in terms of his overall play at both ends. I would love to see him get some NHL time as a reward for how well he is playing and it would also be a chance to see where he is at development wise. As for the center issue I would play him on the wing anyway just to get him some time in the NHL without the pressure of being a center.

Coho to replace

Mase, awesome. Third line, maybe as a two way spark to replace Sammy, given the Fourth line dynamic (strong two way play).

I don’t advocate him as a fourth liner for sure and I don’t think he’s a saviour. The only saviour for the Canucks is a player by the name of “Consistent 60 Minute Effort” who AV seems to be playing less frequently than even Keith Ballard this year (who I think needs to be played more).

by Canuckles on Dec 6, 2010 2:30 PM PST up reply actions

NO I DON’T KNOW! What is wrong with you???? Hodgson is not going to play! We don’t allow guys to play on our damned team who don’t pronounce the “g” in their last name!!! Until Cody can properly pronounce his own last name HE WILL NOT PLAY!!!

Interesting Read

about the oh-so lovely Roxy.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/article1825268.ece

Check it out! I didn’t realize it was that infamous. I had only ever been there once. Nothing special about the place, one floor, live band. But apparently NHL players think otherwise haha.

Lots of other teams before and since! That “Roxy Effect” is true. Our secret weapon!

The Canucks have been avoiding the place ( under orders, I would think) “officially”…for a while.

One man dared to break the Roxy rule.

He walked into those doors and partied like you wouldn’t believe.
And he was persecuted swiftly for his bravery.
His name…

was O’Brien.

Well, I am sure the others have been on occasion, and probably quietly.

OB just went balls out nutty on it, complete with Kan-ish limo photos and the subsequent weight gain.

Something tells me he went more than that once!
