The Keslord striketh again!
The Canucks remain red hot as they steamrolled a Flyers team that looked like they had not played in over a week.
-The Canucks outshot the Flyers 22-8 in the first period but only ended up being ahead 1-0 thanks to Brian Boucher. The Boucher train crashed soon after. The final shots were 49-37, easily Vancouver's highest shot output of the season.
-The Canucks won 45 of 68 faceoffs.
-Jeff Carter, Braydon Coburn and Kimmo Timonen all finished a -3. Somehow Andrei Meszaros finished a +1.
-Kevin Bieksa, Dan Hamhuis and Jannik Hansen each were a +3.
-The Sedins combined for 5 points. Ryan Kesler masterfully scored 2 goals and 1 assist. Oh, 7 shots for Kesler and 9 for Jeff Tambellini.
-A solid game by Roberto Luongo. That was a .946 save percentage by him.
-Alex Edler led all players with 25:33 played.
-The Canucks now lead the NHL in goals per game average, and their 5 on 5 play continues to improve.
-Argh!!! But yay!!! Since the Nucks Misconduct meet up and the pounding the Blackhawks handed us that night, the Canucks are 12-2-2. Botchford has more on the Canucks turning it around.
Some highlights?
Jody Shelley, you dirty fiend!
-Luongo is en route to Florida to witness the birth of his son. He will rejoin the squad for their New Year's Eve game in Dallas.
