PrintThat was footage of the Green Men doing the air guitar when an Avs player was in the penalty box last game. The camera men did not give them much exposure. I couldn't care less anymore. How about you? Is their 5 minutes of fame over?

I hate to admit it
But I agree. They got a lot out of it while they could, which was good. But they’re no longer funny or interesting, they do the same shit every time.
Well…kind of tough to come up with new variations on that act.
Maybe some props? ;-)

I think they should save the act for the playoffs. The regular season is too long; playoffs has always been the time of year for tradition (think: beards, white towels, etc). If they come back every year during the playoffs, they will be a source of anticipated excitement. If they just randomly come out during the season, they’re just, I dunno, kind of mundane.

While I find them no longer amusing...
Opposing teams do not see them as often as us. If they can get a player distracted or mind off the game, then let the act continue. Some players in the box seem to get realy unsettled in the penalty box and that is never a bad thing.

Plus we’re used to them, so the novelty is worn off on us. But it’s still a funny concept generally. I’m fine with them being there.

I still think they’re hilarious. Whenever the Hawks play the ‘Nucks in Vancouver, a part of me still wonders if I’ll get to giggle at the Green Men that night. But yeah, I can see how many of you might think its been played out by now. There’s a segment of the Chicago fanbase that has grown tired of the whole “Chelsea Dagger” goal-song over here.
I think Beantown’s idea of bringing them out for the playoffs would be perfect, because like you said it really is a funny concept, and it is something truly unique to the Canucks, but I’d hate for it to die off because people got sick of seeing them so much.

They’ve been out sparingly this year too. Probably know that too.
I can imagine Dagger would get a little much…even from a fanbase and team that doesn’t like it…( though I actually like the song when it came out ). Repetitiveness kind of kills it. Better than a goal horn where the guy leaves the finger mashed for too long ( looking at you Blues )

It’s just a thing, and it’s a tiny little thing (er…pre-emptive TWSS). I’m neither bothered nor impressed by them. They’re just another pair of fans being crazy. They got press cuz it was different for a while, now they’re just another thing that happens at games. Let em do it, and chuckle once in a while or ignore it.

Put me in the novelty has worn off club
OK the first time I saw them I had to do a double take. It was to say the least surreal, but I think it would have been better had they done it the once and riden off into the sunset.
