Canucks Make First Round Of Roster Cuts

Stay connected for news and updates

Vancouver announced this morning that they're trimmed their roster to 49 gentlemen. The cuts include the following:

Name Destination
Dan Gendur Manitoba Moose
Steven Anthony St. John (QMJHL)
Morgan Clark Swift Current (WHL)
Prab Rai Seattle (WHL)
Kellan Tochkin Everett (WHL)
Dusty Collins Released Manitoba Moose
Nolan Toigo Released

It's yet another early camp exit for Gendur and this bad news for Rai as well who had hopes of moving away from the WHL this year. And the feel-good story that was Abbotsford native Tochkin (who had two goals in the first prospect game) will be put to rest for now. He's only 19, so plenty of time to hone his game at the junior level before camp next season.

Update: Two more cuts - Kevin Connauton has been sent back to the Giants and Marco Rosa has been released.
