Vancouver's 2009-2010 Schedule

PrintCongratulations everyone, you may now go about planning your life until next April. The regular season schedules have been released and here is Vancouver's.
Turns out the rumors were true false as the Canucks and Flames will open up the season in GM Place the Saddledome (thanks Beantown!).
After the jump, the gory details and bold predictions for '09-'10.

Update: Confirmed: the 14 consecutive road games in February, thanks to the Winter Games, is the longest in league history. Thankfully the guys will have those biorhythm bracelets so the coast is clear.
The following is liberally taken from the NHL.com schedules section. Some wild guesses what what may happen as the season unfolds. Which games are you excited for?

The 2009-10 schedule features 14 back-to-back series. The Canucks longest home stand is eight games from December 10th – 26th.
SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN:
The 2009-10 schedule includes 14 home stands and 15 road trips. The Canucks play a total of 29 weekend games including 19 games at home. Saturday is the busiest day of the week for the Canucks this season with 18 games falling on that day.

Oh sweet god yeah. I found some random canuck fans who were cheering louder than me when VAN went up 1-0 in like the first five minutes. I was a car wreck by the end of the night, but it was awesome. At least they hit the Devils and Flyers this year. Of course it’s in the middle of the week.

Then again, a lot of our losing streak in last February was at home right? That’s when the pressure really mounts.

People are tripping over those 14 straight on the road…I’m more concerned over those 8 in a row at home in December. Canucks tend to lose their focus when they’re at home that long. That’s over 2 weeks straight. I don’t like it, nossir.
I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.
Also, it’s not really a 14 game road trip. It is more accurately described as 14 games in a row without any played at home. It’s really 2 road trips with a giant Olympic break in the middle, during which most of the team (minus Lu, kesler, the swedes, salo, and maybe demo) will be around probably practicing.
Question: will Salo miss the Olympics due to injury, or will he get injured at the olympics (like last time) and then miss the rest of the season?

I might be there to witness the untimely demise of Clutterbuck’s vagina. However, I have never been in attendance for a Nuck win at Xcel :( I usually am forced to endure the taunts of countless Yankee Rednecks after driving hours through a snowstorm and spending hundreds of dollars…

luckily, i only miss two games due to wednesday night astronomy labs in first term.
unfortunately, i’ll be missing a lot of first periods for road games when i get out of classes at 4:30 3 days a week all year long.
