"We'll see what happens with the [Sedin] twins," Luongo said. "It's too early for me to talk about a deal. We'll have to see who comes back and decide after that. I know the Canucks management wants a winner."

If the Sedins walk, would you hang around if you were Luongo? I wouldn’t. He’s lost his goalie coach, he’ll lose the only legitimate all-stars on the team in offense, he’ll be losing a big defender in Ohlund…all bad things.

wouldn't help
if the sedins walk, what’ll the line-up be? something like…
Demitra-Kesler-Burrows
[Grabner?]-[Hodgson?]-Bernier
[Pyatt?]-Wellwood-Hansen
Rypien-Johnson-Hordichuk
Basically, a good second line masquerading as a first, a rookie-riffic second line, a decent-but-soft third line and a decent-but-talent-poor fourth line. Presumably, we’d find something in the FA pool to shake things up a bit, but that’s still a fairly average-at-best group. failing a serious improvement in team D (to minnesota levels), it’s hard to see that crew doing anything more than a seventh-place finish and probable first-round exit.

YC: Well, Ian Clarke did make Luongo a better butterfly goalie. He’s better than the other schmo.
passive: there is no way in hell Gillis lets the Twins go. Man, he’d have to have serious horseshoes up his ass to sign quality UFA’s to fill in the holes. Speaking of defence, is MG going to take a stab at Bouwmeester? (Talk about of pissing away a shitload of money….)
