There was much bellyaching in Vancouver about the long layoff since they swept the Blues...basically saying that the Canucks would be rusty.

So I ran the numbers since 1987, just looking at the 2nd round where a 4-0 team went up against a 4-2 team or 4-3 team.

Interestingly, the 4-0 vs 4-3 matchup only came up once. The 4-0 team won the 1st game and the series.

4-0 vs 4-2 came up 12 times.

The record in game 1? 6-6

The record for the series? 6-6

Basically it's meaningless. :-)
