Grabner finds his scoring touch back; Moose win again
Tired of winning playoff games in nerve-wracking fashion, the Manitoba Moose put the Houston Aeros away early.
Michael Grabner scored twice to lead the Moose to a 5-2 win over the Aeros in the American Hockey League Western Conference final Saturday in front of an MTS Centre crowd of 9,736. The Moose will take a 2-0 series lead to Houston for Game 3 on Monday.
"We talked about it before the game. We said we had to do better and no more of those 2-1 and 3-1 games. They're hard on the nerves," said Moose forward Jason Jaffray.
Cody Hodgson scored his first goal in the AHL in the win.
