Sakic to play in 2010 Olympics let alone next season?
"This was definitely a tough one [season]," added Sakic. "Two years ago, I was pretty healthy and felt like I could go on forever. The toughest part is I've done this since I was six years old. When you get to this point, you have to decide if you can do it at a level you want to play at. And if you're willing to do what it takes off the ice to accomplish that.
"Obviously, I don't think there are too many people who get a chance to play in the Olympics in their hometown. That would be down the road and something special. But going into this summer, you have to be realistic with yourself and health wise and motiviation wise. You have to be willing to do what it takes."
- From the Province. In other words, don't bank on it. Sakic will turn 40 next season and he is having a harder time staying healthy. There are plenty of younger players that now can step in and perform heroically.
Having said that, never count out Burnaby Joe either. It sure would be great to see him play for Canada in Vancouver though.

Burnaby Joe
It may be even more exciting for him to sign a one-year deal to play for his hometown team!!!
We are all Canucks.
I had that thought as well!
Not a chance though. Joe is loyal to Colorado
