Are They Out of Their Friggin Minds??
...we're having a friendly competition to see which Canuck fan can map out the best route for the Stanley Cup Parade. All you have to do is use Google Maps to draw the route you think would be best. It could pass through your neighbourhood, by your house, your favourite watering hole, wherever you want. Just let us know where it should go, and use markers to describe any points of interest it passes along the way.

Maybe down to pigeon park
We can practice the route tomorrow. Go down to whichever bench Rolfsen is smoking crack on, then bootfuck him with our skates.
Asshole is making us sound like Leaf fans.
First of all, us serious-to-death hockey fans are going to hate that idea. It’s so premature that it’s a joke. The writer got butchered in the comments section….badly, to which he replied:
Good to see everybody still has their game faces on! Do you have any idea how long it takes to properly plan a parade? Gotta start early.
Seriously, though, regular readers ought to know that premature parade-route planning has been a running gag in our paper for years. With a sweep in the books and nine days to wait until the next Canucks game, we thought we’d have a little fun with the tendency of SOME Vancouver fans to get ahead of themselves. The idea isn’t to hand the Canucks the Cup after Round 1 — the idea is to get people creating some funny parade routes that everyone can laugh at. Boston guy had the right idea.
So it’s a “gag”. It’s sarcastic fun.
IMO, when I heard Canucks fans yelling “We want the Cup” in the streets last night, I thought that was premature also.
I want the cup. I always have. I always will. I have no problem with people shouting that as much as possible!
Now, yelling “we are certain we will get the cup this year” or “we are entitle to the cup” would be another story…

THe article is a mockery of those fans who get ahead of themselves.
Yeah, I can see your point about the “We Want the Cup” thing. But I used that example because I believe it originated in the Finals several years ago.

I’ve heard this too. I wasn’t aware of it but still…why give our next opponent something easy to pin up on a board and say “look what they’re saying already?”
