Terrace is Hockeyville!

Smithers, my hometown, which is a 2-hour drive southeast of Terrace, has tried twice over the past 2 years to win the Hockeyville crown, and failed. But Terrace has pulled it off. Maybe it's the BS voting system for Hockeyville, maybe they deserved it more... but the Canucks and Islanders are going to play a preseason game in my neighborhood this fall.

“The Vancouver Canucks are proud to host the New York Islanders in one of the most passionate hockey communities in our province, Terrace, British Columbia,” said President and CEO of Canucks Sports & Entertainment, Chris Zimmerman. “This is a well-deserved award; the people of Terrace are enthusiastic supporters of the Vancouver Canucks and NHL hockey and reflect the incredible fans we have here in B.C.”

Now whether or not that is just a PR statement from a Canucks boss it doesn't matter. I'm going to do my damn-dest to get tickets to this event. Congrats to Terrace for pulling it off. BTW, I voted 5 times :)

My hat is off to Joe Pelletier, who must be beside himself right now. Why yes he is!
