Flames won on D Day? Horse manure! Phoenix did!
In their trades from today the gave up:
-Olli Jokinen, who wasn't living up to expectations
- Derek Morris. Have you seen his stats? Sure he's gritty as well, but Phoenix hosed the Rangers on this trade IMO.
-Daniel Carcillo. Goon. Has a few flashes of brilliance now and then
They gained:
Nigel Dawes
Dimitri Kalinin
Petr Prucha
Matthew Lombardi
Brandon Prust
1st round pick
2nd round pick
4th round pick (2010)
Am I crazy, or is that some impressive trading by Phoenix? They became sellers as they are dropping too far away from a playoff spot (14th in the West), and GM Maloney did one hell of a job today.

Olli is good but time will tell.
Calgary did give up a lot. My friend thinks that they didn’t and wished the Canucks signed him. I feel like Sundin is just as good as a pick up.
Jokinen isn’t even in the top 30 C’s in the league in scoring so I wonder how great he is. He’s got no excuses now playing with a great team and great players like Iggy. 2 years ago he scored 91 pts but that was a long time ago.

Exactly.
I’m not a big Jokinen fan. Your friend needs to understand the politics behind the trade deadline and how to build a winning team that is successful on a consistent basis. The Canucks don’t have enough depth in picks or on the farm to piss away for Jokinen. Plus, we got Sundin!
Judging by tonight, Joky won’t have many problems in Calgary. It’s early
He’s still a gutless swine in y books until he proves me wrong
One game doesn’t prove anything.
