The race for Jagr is about to begin

According to The Fourth Period, Jaromir Jagr is trying to buy his way out of the final year of his contract with the Russian team Omsk. If he is successful, TFP believes that the Oilers may have the best chance at landing him. But that is not for sure.

Should Mike Gillis take a stab at Jagr this summer?
Yeah, stab him with a knife. I don't want him here.

No way in hell Jagr will be able to buy his way out of his contract with Omsk

IF he can get out of his contract, I say go for it, he can’t be much worse than Mats.

I’m unsure of Jagr. Love his skill and all when he has the DESIRE to play. But his desire is too wavering for my liking.

If they can get him cheap, I say go for it.

Well, he wouldn’t be worse than Mats in the area of offence. How good is he defensively? Then again, how good is Mats defensively? God it’s a toss-up.
I just hate Jagr is all. Let him rot in Russia I say! I really don’t think we could get him cheap. Not in a free agent market. Somebody’s going to pay big bucks for him

If he’s coming back to NA he’s going somewhere he knows someone. The rumors from earlier in the year are play with Hemskey in Edm, and to play under Tom Renney again. Other possibilities would be going somewhere familiar – Was/Pit. I can’t see any reason for him to come out here.

Something tells me that Washington would never take him back after he failed there years ago. Otherwise I can see your point.
Amazing how much more Renney got out of Jagr..

I’d rather have Camelleri (sp?)

Absolutely. Of course, we’re talking about centers and wingers now.

Jagr is just another has-been…don’t get me going on over paying for has-been’s.

Believe me, I won’t get you started on that….

(Sundin is god)
