Reporters were all over Mats about the upcoming road trips, but the big Swede defelected a lot of his answers. Listen to his interview here.

As long as the Canucks are cruising, Kyle Wellwood, who has not been producing, may reamin a healthy scratch in St. Louis.

I can hear the jabs from Yankee coming already. Earlier in the year I was ripping him for hating on Woody.

Wellwood is definitely relevant as long as Salo keeps taking bombs that miss the net by a country mile but ricochet onto Wellwood’s stick.

I'm a big fan of Wellwood

but it is clear he is a 3rd or 4th liner at best right now. He’ll be 26 in May, which tells me he is probably at or near his “prime”. There is certainly hope that he could become a solid #2 centreman before his 30th birthday, and potentially a great PP guy. But it’s not worth getting all worked up over him sitting a few games out.
