Let's bring Kraft Hockeyville to British Columbia!
Hello everybody! My name is Joe Pelletier, aka The Hockey History Blogger over at http://www.greatesthockeylegends.com
As you may know, Terrace BC, my hometown, is a finalist for Hockeyville. We are almost ready to begin the voting process, and I am enlisting for the support of Canucks fans everywhere.
If Terrace wins the Canucks (most likely) will come to Terrace for a NHL exhibition game, and we get $100,000 in rink improvements. Pretty exciting times!
We are trying to secure 4 million votes. With a surrounding population of 20,000, that's going to be tough. So we need your out of town votes!
Here's how to vote. You can vote as many times as you want.
* online at www.cbcsports.ca/hockeyville ;
* via toll free telephone 1-866-533-8066;
* by SMS text messaging the word Vote and Community name to 222111 (standard text message rates apply to messages sent and received – these rates are applied by carrier). To cancel, text the word STOP to 222111.*
If you have unlimited texting, this is the fastest way for multiple submissions.
The public voting period will be from February 28, 2009 at 8:00 pm PST (after the fifth and final Top Five Community broadcast on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game #2) to March 4, 2009 at 8:59:59 p.m. PST (the “Voting Period”).
Audience voters may vote for one Community at a time. Voting is unlimited.
Votes received via online, telephone, and text messaging will be accumulated. The Community that receives the highest number of votes during the Voting Period will be named Kraft Hockeyville 2009. The Grand Prize Community will be announced live on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada on March 7, 2009.
Random prizes are also being offered in exchange for out of town voting support at http://www.greatesthockeylegends.com
