Stop F'ing About - Put Chubby with The Twins

Viggy is maddening at times.  After watching the trio of games from this past weekend, its apparent that Burrows doesn't really work well with the twins.  This move reminded me of the efforts to slot Matt Cooke between them a few years back, with everyone wishing it would work out, but knowing it would never do.

Chubby is the guy they need with the Twins.  In the Pre-Holiness era, there was no obvious 2nd line to take some heat off the Twins, so they have needed a big body to help create space for them to work.  Now with a 2nd line taking up some serious time of the opposing defenses, its time to put a player with the Twins that makes offensive sense; Chubby.

I've bagged on Chubby most of the season, but these past two games against Dallas and Phoenix, I was impressed with his tenacity, willingness to get in around the net and, dare I say it, speed!  Chubby's hands are a little rusty having been doing nothing but propping up his chin in the press box lately...but that should wear off in due time.

Is it bad I immediately thought of Chubarov when I read the title?

But I do like the idea of getting Burrows back on the third line and maybe giving Wellwood some more time.

Problem is it seems the best guys with the Sedins help fight in front of the net, buy them some space to cycle and pick-up rebounds. Carter and Pyatt did that well. Not sure Pudge can do that at all…but with some struggling teams in front of them (Montreal X2 and Toronto) coupled with Viggy’s love of line juggling, I agree it’s worth a shot.

I thought about a large dick

and I’m secure enough in my masculinity to admit it.

Wellwood’s consistency comes into play here I think. I like the bigger dude like Pyatt with the twins because he gets hacked but still gets open by pushing away from players. Woody just gets pushed around and sneaks about to get open. Unfortunately, he stands in the same spot at the side of the net every time and the goalies know it. Consider him scouted.

I miss Chubarov! He was a great checker…and we have no Russians.

We could sure use a Russian Rocket right about now.

My point exactly…as part of this line, is it really necessary to have a big body in between the Twins, as opposing teams cannot throw out their biggest and baddest against them any longer (with the Kesler line doing so well).

The game is opening up for the team, and its evidenced by the added goal scoring. It’s time for Chubby to cash in.

You may be right, GZ. But until a guy comes around that had the same success as Anson Carter did I will stand by my opinion, more room on the ice or not.

I don’t like Burrows’ inconsistency in scoring either. He said it: he closes his eyes and as soon he feels the puck on his stick he’ll shoot. Hardly the confidence I want to see on a scoring line. I want to see a bonafide scorer there.
I still think Gillis is going to go out and get just that at the deadline.

BTW...Thanks

…for the bump to the front page. Wow.

Maybe Gillis can pick up Naslund for O’Brien and Raymond
