Forsberg Struggling
After a 7-0 loss by the Swedes to the Fins at the Karjala Cup, Peter Forsberg seems humbled. He told told the Swedish press that his return to playing with the Tre Konors went worse than he expected. While his skills are still evident, his speed is not. That's what happens when you hardly ever play at that level for so long.
Forsberg said that he will make up his mind over the next few days on whether or not he'll continue playing. It just doesn't look so positive when the Swedish headlines look like this:
I'm sure we'll here more about this from Mike Gillis and his scouting staff soon.
The Swedish papers are also saying that the Capitals are putting Michael Nylander on waivers. Please tell me that he's not an option for Gillis. Bah we can't afford him anyway.

We can afford Nylander on re-entry waivers, which is I think what the Capitals want to do to him, because he’s very expensive to leave in the minors and most owners don’t like doing that. But in any case, on re-entry there are plenty of teams who’ll have a shot at taking him before we do, and they will.
I see that. Adiose motherfucker! haha!

Well the statement isn’t true. Several teams are waiting for a Forsberg decision. I was hacking the Weinrich-Carney-type Salvation Army signings by Nonis. But yeah, aside from those, Nonis was awesome.

But Gillis did sign Son of Sam
…who single-handidly kept us competitive for the first 20% of the season, when all hope seemed lost.
That’s gotta count for something ;)
