Luongo Has The Flu
Sigh.
But it's possible that both Bernier, Hansen and Daniel will be ready to go by Tuesday.
Update (November 9) from The Province: Obviously, Luongo's flu has dissipated because he told Ben Kuzma today in Dallas that he feels that he can play, but that his ribs are still sore and his timing is off. Andrew Raycroft will start against the Blues, and Luongo will most likely sit on the bench as the backup.
Daniel Sedin did not skate today and is apparently still feeling some discomfort. It looks like both Luongo and Sedin will be ready for Thursday's game against the jackass Wings.
Update: Confirmed - Both Luongo and Daniel will sit out tomorrow night. Schneider returns to back-up with Raycroft getting the start.

You would know then Sean…just coughing with a fractured rib ( I have had one) is agony.
No problem short term though…either of the goalies here now are doing good enough to “hold down the fort”.
The earliest use of the word with the spelling we recognize today is found in "L'Acadie: or Seven Years' Exploration in British America" by James Edward Alexander, published in 1849:
We also met a lusty fellow in a forest road with a keg of whisky slung round him who called to us 'Come boys and have some grog, I'm what you call a canuck"
Yeah I’ve been sick and hacking the whole month too. It didn’t help matters. Man that wedding/stag I went to was a curse :)

I keep trying to tell people about weddings
but for some reason they keep on havin them and going to them. When will you folks finally learn?
This waiting in between Canuck games is lousy. If it weren’t for all the injuries and illness I’d be really pissed right now.
Just wait…there’s a really big layoff coming up in about a week. That’s when we lose our minds.

Vigneault joked that whatever the illness, it seems to strike only French-Canadian Canucks.
Funny AV.
All that didn’t stop Daniel from taking a playful poke at his brother. How often did Henrik call Daniel while he was sidelined?
“Every night,” chuckled Daniel. “He cried himself to sleep.”
Haha, Dank made a funny too!
that’s actually my fault. I added Hansen in the post without Yankee knowing. Hyuk hyuk!

Blessing in Disguise?
I have no problem with Luongo sitting out a couple of extra days. It can’t hurt to rest the rib a bit longer to prevent another shot in the same area which presumably would sit him down for even longer. Goaltending has been okay, to say the least.
Sounds like Luongo skated today in practice but Daniel didn’t. I can’t keep track of these recovery efforts anymore.

There is little sense in having Luongo as backup if his ribs are still sore. Being the backup means he could have to go in at any time. Why risk that on a player not fully recovered yet and who admits his timing is still off?
Both Raycroft and Schneider have been great, so what’s the rush? Rest Luongo till he’s fully recovered and has been able to go full-bore in practice and get his timing back. Play Raycroft against the Blues with Schneider as the backup.
Thursday's Game
Seeing as Thursday is one of the 3 chances (@ DET, @ DET, @ TOR) I have to see the Canucks this year without traveling more than 2.5 hours by car, I am hoping that Daniel and Roberto are back by then.
Anyone else in the DET area planning to be at the game?
London, Ontario. I try (often unsuccesfully) to make at least one game in either Toronto, Buffalo or Detroit per year. At least they’re back to going to TO every year.
There is nothing better than cheering against the Leafs in Toronto.
