Ryan Kesler Appreciation Station
Hello, Canucks fans! I'm getting a Team USA jersey for this upcoming Olympics, and I already have a Tim Thomas Bruins jersey, so I was thinking about getting someone else. People say Ryan Kesler is a pretty impressive player. I'd like to hear more about this fellow. Please (if this isn't too crazy) put some info in the comments to convince me to get him on there.
Thanks in advance!

Don’t do it! Get a Phil Kessel jersey instead! Then if he fails, you can always shuffle the “l” and “e” around throw out the “s” and buy an “r”.
Nah, Kesler is awesome. He’s getting better and better plus he’s going to captain a team one day, or could do so right now. He’s a gutsy, speedy, skilled guy that we love having on our team.
Did I mention I’m a Bruins fan? That’s a big no on the Kessel.

If you like Mike Richards (or if you’re a Leafs fan hate him?) you’ll like Kesler. Kes isn’t as offensively proficient, but he’s definitely blooming into a leader and leaves his guts out there for his teammates. A big fan favorite.

Speed, skill, grit, and he talks trash well. The guy is a beast. Maybe the best all around forward on the Canucks.

Dude…we can see you are highly intelligent already!
You can not pick a better player than Kesler.
His offensive talent is underrated and always getting better. He is fast. He blocks shots. He gets under the skin of his opponents.
Fine choice my man!
The earliest use of the word with the spelling we recognize today is found in "L'Acadie: or Seven Years' Exploration in British America" by James Edward Alexander, published in 1849:
We also met a lusty fellow in a forest road with a keg of whisky slung round him who called to us 'Come boys and have some grog, I'm what you call a canuck"
Canucks Kesler Jersey looks good
and I’m sure a USA jersey would too.
He is one of the best all-around players in the league. Can cycle, pass well, shoot, back-check, fore-check, play defence, work a PP, kill penalties…
If the game is on the line with 30 seconds left, I’m putting Ryan Kesler out there.
If anyone’s still checking this, what are some awesome things he’s done? Youtubes? I need to be able ot defend it.

There’s a number of videos at youtube; just search for ryan kesler. Mostly they’ll hilite his scoring (he’s good) and his fighting (ditto). Add in the Selke nomination, which tells you he’s two-way, and you can see why he’s valuable. He’s close a point a game this year, which is pretty good considering the injuries to his linemates and the shuffling of lines as a result (Canucks really hit by injury bug thus year, hardest hit in league last I checked).

p.s. He’s a great skater, too, I’d say he’s the best on the team (we have a few guys who are blazingly fast, maybe even a wee bit more than Kes, but Kes is stronger on his skates than they are, harder to knock around).
Team USA will need a checking line, or at least good two-way lines, that can keep up w/the guns they’ll face from Canada, Russia, Sweden etc. Given Kesler’s two-way play I suspect you’ll see him on the ice a lot cuz he’ll be needed and cuz between his defense and his speed, he’ll be in the play, not left behind.
