"The doctors have come in with a new plan," said Demitra. "I've been swimming for the past two weeks and building up a lot of strength and the movement in my arm is getting better. And I'm now skating, too. We're heading in the right direction."

Do we have cap room for Demo? Are we even within, er, $1.2m of the cap? … to pick a non-random salary :)

Good question…we need a capologist here. I think we would be over. Gillis acquired some guys knowing that Demitra was going to be out long-term…so that is my guess.

Mine too. So who gets cut? Welly for sure (not producing, plus Demo can play center in hisplace). If I look here I see that we have about $1.7m of cap space. Demo’s 4.0-1.7 = 2.3m. Take away Welly’s 1.2 and we have 1.1m to go.
Sorry, Shane?

A new plan?! Demo’s entire rehab needs the Benny Hill theme.

I pictured water wheels. And nose plugs.

As hilarious as this picture is, it might not be that far from the truth. One of the Toronto Raptors was rehabbing in the University of Toronto pool the other day, and apparently the guy can’t swim – he had a flotation belt, TWO pool noodles, AND a someone swimming next to him as he paddled pathetically up and down the pool.
I think it was this guy: http://www2.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/players/Reggie_Evans/. But I don’t follow basketball too closely so I don’t know for sure.

I wonder if he’s on the downside of decent at this point in his career, or maybe the extra long layoff will have rejuvenated him.
Let’s just start a site bet on how long it’ll take Demo to re-injure himself whenever he finally gets back on the ice.
3-5 games feels about right.

Yeah, they were telling him that his shoulder was fine, so Demo went to the pool for a 2nd opinion. AV accused Demo of making excuses and not being able to deal with reality.

Toss him in the deep end. If he comes up, he’s back on the team!

I don’t think we are trying to find out if Demo is a witch. Or are we?
