Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

I'm still breathing heavy from it right now...The guys tried to get me the hat trick. I came pretty close with the post.

Ehrhoff in his post game interview.

Ehrhoff missed the trick on one great chance late in the game and rang the post when he was double-shifted in the final minutes.

did we really score five unanswered goals last night?

I’m having a little trouble remembering.

But I do remember referring to Ehrhoff as Blastoff.

If Capt. Louie calls him Bobbyhoff then I think that should be his official nickname and that I should receive royalties every time that name is mentioned on the air or in print ;-)

That walking-on-air, exhilerating, joyous feeling that we’ve felt for stretches the past 3 years began its return last night. Let’s hope it’s solidified by Danny’s return against the ’Hawks.

a look at the standings....

+: we’re now tied for 8th in the conference with 24 points
-: detroit and dallas both have games on hand, so we’re actually in 10th
+: we’re within two points of calgary
-: calgary plays LA tonight
+: LA is actually good this year (4th in conference, right ahead of calgary), which means there’s a good chance of them beating calgary :)

this all means that if LA wins tonight and we win tomorrow night, we can tie calgary in points!!! of course, calgary will still have games on hand, but i don’t really care about that right now (i don’t think it really matters until the end of the season with the real playoff races).
the only problem is our next opponent: chicago (3rd in conference)

+: Jonny Toews will be looking like a deer in the headlights as he attempts to locate Mitchell at all costs
-: Someone from Chicago will be taking run at Hank or Dan

AV and Quenville will get into a brawl.

Ehrhoff was +9 before last night’s game. Anybody know what his +/- is today?

by Bobby Canuck on Nov 21, 2009 11:23 AM PST reply actions

+/-

Found it.
Ehrhoff leads team @ +11.
Bernier’s -5 leads team in that category.

by Bobby Canuck on Nov 21, 2009 11:49 AM PST reply actions

he’s also 7th in the league for defencemen for both goals and points

The Hawks should be chomping at the bit. The Canucks will have to watch that none of the Cro-Magnons on their team take any liberties.

I like Blastoff, but if Lou says Bobbyhoff, thats OK with me!

The earliest use of the word with the spelling we recognize today is found in "L'Acadie: or Seven Years' Exploration in British America" by James Edward Alexander, published in 1849:

We also met a lusty fellow in a forest road with a keg of whisky slung round him who called to us 'Come boys and have some grog, I'm what you call a canuck"

by vancitydan on Nov 21, 2009 12:05 PM PST reply actions

So much for Blastoff quietly going about his business. He’s in the spotlight now!

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 21, 2009 12:33 PM PST reply actions

I am still breathing heavy from that pic of Megan Fox that Sean put up in the pregame thread last night.
