Awaken From Your Slumber! Canucks-Avalanche Game Thread
Colorado Avalanche at Vancouver Canucks, Nov 20, 2009 7:00 PM PST
After going 2-3 on their road trip the Canucks now find themselves embarking on a 5 game home stand to play the Avs, Blackhawks, Kings, Oilers and Sharks. This will definitely show us what the Canucks are made of, and I hope it isn't shit. Vancouver is 7-2-0 at home this season and currently sits in 11th spot in the West, 2 points out of a playoff spot.
Let's get it done, boys! For guts and glory...and the world's end!
To the tune: "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin
Your head is buzzing and it won't go
In case you don't know
The Captain's calling you to join him
Vancouver, you know that the Avs blow
And you do know

Downside: Withdrawal’s a bitch.
Upside: 82 games any way you slice ’em!
The opposite of serious is not funny; the opposite of serious is unserious.
Downside: I only bought a 26’er

As Incidental as it was
tough not to make that call as it would have given the Nucks a great scoring chance and intentional or not the pick was made.
hate to be a ref. They don’t have instant replay like we do

Kind've like
an accidental highstick, not bad intent but gotta control your own body, and you can’t allow a goal to be scored on a dman getting knocked down without the puck, I just think you have to make that call there.
The guy backed into Sammy standing almost still. No penalty there…just bad luck.
Killed it anyhow…fuck this ref. You know the crowd is going to force him to make a call for us soon.

so, i agree with john garrett that it was glass getting a bunch of hits in the early 2nd that seemed to turn the momentum. and rypien running around — anyone agree?
Yep…but I think you have to add Bernier to that list. He got the first big hit of this game and has been finishing his checks all night as well.
