Daniel Sedin Out Until November 20 / More Updates
His foot is still sore, so he has been sent back to Vancouver, and should be ready on the 20th: the Canucks' first home game after the 5-game road trip ends. Lovely.
Jannik Hansen should make his regular season debut on Thursday against the Wings.
Darcy Hordichuk will most-likely be suspended for 1 game for instigating a fight against Cam Janssen in the final 5:00 of last night's game.
Tanner Glass collided with Steve Bernier during practice today, re-opening a cut on his leg. He says he should be OK to play against Detroit.
Alas, more line juggling ensues.

Wellwood had better step it up. His ability to just be fancy out there isn’t translating on the scoresheet and it’s starting to grate my nerves.

Hansen
I know these guys make gazillions of dollars to play a game, but once in a while I realize how tough they have to be. I broke my thumb mountain biking a week before Hansen broke his fingers. His pins came out less than two weeks ago, a week after mine, and my hand is still very stiff and sore. I can’t imagine how he’s going to be able to hold his stick properly and get thrown in against the Red Wings! Tough customers, these guys. Or perhaps I’m just a total wimp…
Poor Hansen. He had terrible luck last year with injuries and then there not really being a spot for him when he recovered. He looked fantastic in preseason this year and I figured he might have a real breakthrough season. Then the stupid fight and busted knuckles, which pretty much guarantee another difficult year where he struggles to contribute.
Sorry to say it, but those top two lines look weak. I like all of those players (half of them as good third-liners), and I don’t see any better options from the bottom 6, but it’s hard to imagine them generating much offense. Sigh.
broken bones in hands really suck.
i broke a bone in my hand two years ago. i broke it july 30th at work, spent that august with a pin in my hand, had it pulled out about august 29th, started physio the day before school started up again, and returned to full duties at work in mid-october. my hand will still never be the same again, though: my fourth finger’s knuckle never came back, and i doubt i could ever punch someone with my right hand due to the fear of rebreaking the bone.
i mean no harm. i come in peace. unlike shane o'brien or kevin bieksa........
GO CANUCKS GO!
