Sami Salo Hurt? Sergei Shirokov Benched?
Some afternoon updates for the few brave souls out there who haven't flung themselves off a cliff yet:
1. Sami Salo is quite possibly injured. Or maybe just a tummy ache. For those of you keeping track at home, this pushes us a step closer to the official drinking social of the 2009-10 season. I trust your bar at home is well stocked.
2. Tanner Glass is looking to slot in on the third line, meaning Raymond gets a well-deserved promotion to the second line. You guessed correctly: Sergei Shirokov appears headed for the press box.
3. Fun fact: The only person on the Canucks who doesn't have a negative +/-? Christian Ehrhoff. Logic is now suffering from this losing streak too.

I'm sorry to bring this up...
…but anybody want a do-over on the CoHo issue?
It took 3 games for a spot on the 2nd line to open up. THREE GAMES.
He’s still injured though isn’t he?
Besides, who are we kidding? Once Demitra can hold a banana in his hand again, every goalie in this league is screwed.

Great question Jevant. I think it’s a very astute observation and worth pointing out. Am I the only one thinking that Raymond, despite having jump, hasn’t done much this year? So he is getting promoted by default basically.

So Montreal needs D men and we need skilled forwards. How does everyone feel about the Kostitsyn brothers?

For whatever it's worth...
Eklund said that we were looking into Sergei Kotitsyn. I’d take Sergei and Andrei for O’Brien :) If only…
So
we didn’t want a superstar with a supposed attitude problem, but we’re all over a borderline NHLer with one?
OK so
why not Heater?
If Gillisgan was going to trade Burrows, Bieksa and Schroder for Hedman, why not a package for a proven superstar like Heatley?
That didnt happen. Bieksa might have been part of it, Burrows was not though. Not after that value contract extension and breakout season.
It does not sound like a Gillis move.
I’m not in favor of adding anybody right now, actually.
Also, in the Burke video, he said it was second hand info and didn’t know if it could be trusted.

Gillis doesn’t want a trap though. He has already said that.

So, in 2007, what was that? The right wing lock?

Running through:
Thank Christ its only three games into a 82 game season.
And if all else fails,…..Scott Arniel!
Just sayin’
/runs back to work, see you all soon.
Amen to that! Somebody would snag that guy off re-entry waivers I’m sure :(
