Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Which Jersey is Worse?

I am not participating in any Halloween festivities tonight, except putting rocks in kids' bags because I didn't buy candy. So, speaking of Halloween and scary,  I just wanted to gauge your opinion on something I saw on Twitter. Which of the following jerseys is more hideous than the other. Don't be a homer. Take a long hard look...

That’s my favourite all time Canucks jersey, and my favourite non-Canucks jersey.
They’re both awesome.

Really heh? God I hate that Habs jersey. I know it holds historical significance, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:06 AM PDT up reply actions

I have this weird affinity towards really ugly jerseys.
Not, like, LA Kings third ugly, but those ugly.

Did you catch those Don Cherry jerseys Kingston/ Kitchener( I don’t know which) wore last week?

I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

What beautiful jerseys.

I agree with the Doc, I love both of ’em. My parents bought me the flying V, so I rep that where ever I go.

And if I could get a Habs sweater like that, an actually knitted wool sweater, that’d be a hard offer to turn down.

The V shall always hold a special place in my heart. Remember ’82!

that yellow one is ass. Love the black one though

Oh wow. Great find! That’s Grant Mulvey isn’t it?

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:20 AM PDT up reply actions

Affirmative. The Chicago series in ’82 was a war. I think you can see bits and pieces of it on Youtube. The fights, anyway.

No, not really. I can appreciate that ol’ Canucks jersey. I remember that Cup run. It was a beauty, but it kills me to think of how it ended.

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:35 AM PDT up reply actions

I think I just ruined your pride a bit didn’t I? Sorry man.

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:36 AM PDT up reply actions

No, no, it’s all good, Sean. Yeah, ’82 was special, even the sweep in the final. When Harry handed the puck to Bossy in Game 1, I felt so empty.

Whoa whoa…what? harry Neale? What happened?

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:51 AM PDT up reply actions

Wait..

Bossy scored the tying and OT goal. That have something to do with it?
You really gotta meet this guy one day.

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 12:54 AM PDT up reply actions

OT in game 1. Harold Snepsts trys to hit someone with a pass, but puts it right on Bossy’s stick. Game over.

by Smoboy41 on Nov 1, 2009 12:56 AM PDT up reply actions

Ah, Harry Snepsts. You had me wondering there for a minute. Damned Bossy! I heckled Trottier in Terrace about kicking our ass in 82 and he said “don’t blame me! It was Bossy!”
No shit!

Ugly [?] jerseys

I LOVE the Canuck’s jersey featuring the giant V for Vancouver… and also for Victory!! It’s by far the best jersey the team has ever worn. In my opinion, it’s the best jersey ever worn in the NHL by any team! I’ve never understood why some feeble-minded hockey “purists” considered it ugly. The colors were eye-catching, and the design simple but effective. The usual plain bland, unexciting, jerseys worn by NHL teams are… well… plain, bland and unexciting!

Hey, fair enough. Everyone has their own selective taste. My fave is the skate jerseys of the early 90’s

by Sean Zandberg on Nov 1, 2009 11:33 AM PST up reply actions

I really love your retro third jerseys that you guys have now – those are really sweet. I wish that the Nucks would stick with them over the stupid Whale C.

by JP Nikota on Nov 1, 2009 7:44 PM PST up reply actions

You’re preaching to the choir, FF. As far as I know, there is no more Orca Bay, so let’s ditch the whale.

That being said, I’m really not crazy about the orange and black ones. I think I even like the Montreal Jammies more. Where’s Waldo to the max.

as a hawks fan

I gotta admit, I love the V jersey.

I select it all the time when I play NHL10.

It works against any other team’s home or away jerseys, and just looks bad ass.

Just wanted to drop in.

I think Toews is coming back thurs….see you guys on the 22nd ;)

Glad to here a future Olympian will be OK.

Hell Battery, there’s two more after that to look forward to.

Its fun to watch a rivalry grow…too bad most of us like the Hawks when they aren’t palying the home team.

Not like the Flamers. Those guys are vile.

Of course the Flying V has it all over the Waldo jersey. That one gives me a headache!
