Shirokov Dropped; Bliznak Likely Recalled
Shirokov's TOI of 7:49 was probably a hint. If recalled, Bliznak will step in for Bolduc who - wait for it - is out with a shoulder injury. Bliznak has five points (2G, 3A) with the Moose and tonight will be his first NHL game.
That's 10 injuries in four weeks. WTF is a good start...

Wait a minute
…if Shirokov is dropped, Bolduc is hurt, and Bliznak is up…don’t we need one more skater?
Or perhaps Hordi draws back in?

Wow. Who would have guessed that 13 games in??
Yeah, all those folks talking about forward depth. Shirokov sent back a second time, Desbien seeing more games than Hodgson got to, Rome having to move up, and Grabner playing on the second line.
I think AV wants to see a more defensive third line, and since Shirokov doesn’t have a place in the first or second line, we get Bliznak instead. Good to see Bernier working out this way, though.
By the way, Rome could possibly be put on the third line and Glass on the fourth, but at this point, who’s counting? All I can see is a larger disparity of the TOI between players than what we saw at the start of the year (And hey, what was our record then as well?)

Any word on wellwood? Toe injuries don’t usually last long. And what’s hansen’s progress like? There’s plenty of space for a guy like him on the back two lines.

Hansen is still a month out, had some pins removed.
Welly can’t get his skate on yet….once he can, he will play.
I have no problem with Shark going down for a checker guy…but we should find a spot for him on the top lines somehow too.
Speed line doesn’t look like it needs him though…

Shirok looked improved to me this time around … but still not fully reaqdy. He cut his errors in half, at least … just a little further to go. He also needs to adjust his style in the offensive zone cuz opponents are too often catching him against the boards and using their superior size to strip him of the puck.
Mind you, that’s a lot to conclude after only seeing him play in one game, really.
