Oh wow. SOB has been playing well too.
Fuck it. Put Ehrhoff on a forward line :)

Interesting idea to move a D up to Forward (like Byfuglien). Ehrhoff probably is the best candidate because of his skating and offensive abilities. His D-zone coverage won’t be missed too much. I don’t think any of the other D’s could make the jump up.

I doubt it’ll ever happen though…

On second thought, Edler has been pretty bad lately. Maybe he sits one or more. Who knows.

Isn’t it great to have problems like this?

I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

Has to be SOB

Although I am in agreement he has been playing well lately. No dumb penalties (thanks Schneider), defensively responsible and not trying to do more than his capabilities allow.

Still, see no other option here.

Definitely makes you think Mr. Gillis is getting that itchy phone dialing finger right about now.

That was my second reaction. Hard to say. Salo will probably pull his groin within 5 games though :) Hold the phones!!!!!

I don’t think we really have to worry about making any long-term adjustments with Salo back. He’s just a bonus player who shows up every once in awhile.

Bring me Stanley. Alive if possible, dead... just as good.

I honestly can’t pick one. Schneids looked OK. He has to play. Edler had a so so game last night, but has been solid. Ehrhoff leads the blue line in scoring.

SOB AND Mitchell have shown more speed and offensive talent this year in spots as well.

Gillis ;

“What to do, what to do…what’s the name of that Florida forward that wasn’t nailed the other night Lawrence…I hear the Panthers are supposed to be the bitches of the Canucks in trades, no?”

scanning the list for Top Six forwards and smirking at the Burke dart board

“Maybe we can trade our first for Kessel…”

Laughter all around the war room…

Sit someone, but don’t move them. With Salo’s history (and Schneider’s?) , we’ll need that depth on D.

I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much.

Agree, but there has got to be Cap problems, I dont know.

by Jesse Taylor on Oct 26, 2009 5:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Not with Demitra and his $4 million gone. I think we should be ok still.

by Sean Zandberg on Oct 26, 2009 8:23 PM PDT up reply actions

And Sedin and his $6 mill still out.

I don’t think Dank was put on the LTIR, so his salary still counts. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

by Sean Zandberg on Oct 26, 2009 8:46 PM PDT up reply actions

If he wasn’t he should have been…must be 10 games in the 4 weeks he was expected to be out, no?

NHLnumbers and Capgeek don’t have him on LTIR, but botchford said something about how he assumed he was put there.

And of course CDC doesn’t differentiate between LTIR and IR.

So there you go! Who the hell knows.

I think everyone assumed he was put there … he was gonna miss enough games for sure and we might as well save the cap space … but when I look around, I don’t actually see him there. Anyone know for sure if Daniel was put on LTIR?

According to Cap Geek he is not But Hansen and Demo are
