Mathieu Schneider Ready To Return
From Botchford at the Province:
Seven weeks after he signed with the Canucks, Mathieu Schneider is ready to make his debut for the Canucks. The Canucks, however, aren't ready for him...
Before the season started, Schneider was placed on the offseason long-term injury list. The Canucks did it for two reasons. They needed his shoulder to heal fully from offseason rotator cuff surgery and they needed relief from salary cap pressure.
Being on the list, means a player has to be out for 24 days, leaving Schneider waiting for Vancouver's Oct. 25 game against Edmonton, even though he's saying he's healthy now.
Good to see some relief is on the way. Let's just hope he's ready for a larger role on defense until the rest of the glass crew returns.

Personally, I can’t wait to see Schneider play for us. He has so much skills and abilities for his age. Our PP is going to be so much better than it already is (was?)
Ditto.
I hope he can bring some of the same things that Salo brought to the team (puck moving, PP management).
I will put $$$ down that says he’ll make us "forget " about Salo.

Bullet! And it’s accurate too. He’ll wind up to unload and then fake the shot and make a brilliant pass. He’s a clever bugger

Hansen
Botchford also said tweeted that Hansen isn’t ahead of schedule and still 3 weeks away from returning.

It’s disturbing that this seems like such good news to me. Times are tough when I’m breathing a sigh of relief over the return of a 40-year-old D-man who had off-season shoulder surgery. I’m sure he’s still a good player, but any excitement over this just shows how grim things have gotten.
Man, it sucks to hit the doldrums like this to start the season, after all the build-up and anticipation.
I don’t think it’s disturbing to be excited about it. It’s a testament to Schneider’s durability. He’s no slouch. He’s an upgrade
