Around SBN: Terry Collins, David Wright, And The Mets/Brewers Kerfuffle

All Hail Henrik

Bork bork bork!

No hockey for a week? Mounting injuries? Blah blah blah. The important news is our single Sedin is one of the top players of the week:

Sedin finished tied for third among scorers for the week, recording seven points (3-4-7) as the Canucks won two of their three games. Sedin scored a goal in a 5-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 5. Two nights later, Sedin notched two goals and two assists in a 7-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. He closed out the week by recording two assists in a 4-3 shootout win over the Dallas Stars, Oct 11. In his ninth NHL season, the native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, leads Vancouver with eight points (3-5-8) in five games.

About his missing brother: word is he's going to try and be back as early as three weeks from now (as opposed to the four to six weeks report from yesterday). Meanwhile his replacement on the top line - Steve Bernier - had an assist but finished with a -1 last night.

I wonder if Henrik being selected Alternative Captain has anything to do with Daniel’s injury, though a bruised ego is not nearly as bad as a broken foot.

Joking aside, good to know that the Sedins play as well separate as together. I hope the Canucks don’t rush Daniel back too soon and give other players the chance to improve their game.

A three week recovery for Danny wouldn’t surprise me at all. Sports medicine has been rapidly refined and improved over the course of time and I’m hoping that he’s a fast healer.

When it comes to injuries, I’ll take the doctor’s opinions over Dank’s. 4-6 weeks.

Definitely, coming back too early just will make it worse.

A broken foot is an injury which heals in 2-3 weeks. The pain threshold on each player is different though, and thus the wildly fluctuating prediction for time missed.
The injury can’t get worse as the bone knits quick, the slashes and shots on it though are different and Daniel will come back when he can take a good 2 hander without droppin. He’ll have a sore foot for the rest of the season, but the Sedins are tough buggers, so prepare for a quick return.
He’ll be back by the end of October is my call.

Tough buggers is right

Guy played the last half of that game with a broken foot.

I say 4 weeks before he is activated…but wouldn’t be surprised if he comes back in the 3 weeks he said.
