Coyotes 4 Canucks 1
Alain Vigneault is probably done in Vancouver. The players are playing like they have tuned him out. I would expect his firing sooner rather than later. It's over, right?
Regardless of the 3 bad goals let in by Luongo, I'd say the players have tuned AV out.
If a firing has not been announced by Friday lunch time I would be surprised.
A tonne of turnovers.
A gutless effort (minus Kesler)
A fairly productive effort by Line 2.
Yeah, this should be the end of Vigneault. Hate to say it but it's true. Obviously the players have tuned him out. A fail by the whole team tonight.
In these situations the coach gets the axe. And it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mike Gillis already had a backup plan in mind.

I can't recall the last time I've seen this team in my lifetime simply fail as much as they have the past two games. The only thing going right for them is they're getting healthier. I guess maybe that'll change soon.
Vigneault will find work somewhere else (or can start calling games along with Crawford). This team needs a new voice badly.

Completely unlike the Canucks.
But upon reflection of the whole thing, I'm ready to make a bold prediction: Canucks win 6 of their next 8, including a big win over San Jose.
Book It.

Up until last week the Canucks were a 500 hockey team without their franchise player, who is a goalie, which makes him even more integral to their success. Who would have expected them to go 500 over that stretch when Lou went down. Particularily with the schedule they had.
Luo showed flashes of brilliance last night but also looked a bit rusty.
This too shall pass.
Having said that, the flamers are probably far enough ahead that they won't be caught. That just sucks. I can't stand the Flamers

Last night was brutal, but i'm still confident. A few wins and we are right back on track. And for catchin the Flames, you guys realize that there is still 35 games to go right? The panic in this town over the Canucks playin well or poorly in January is crazy.

I think we'll see them continue to tread water until the All Star break. Gillis will then give AV and the team, maybe a month. When is the trade deadline again?

I was drunk and impatient when I wrote that post, yet I have a $20 bet that the Canucks lose their next game against Columbus and AV is fired by Sunday or Monday.
There is no trade that will help this team.
It's a management issue and if the coach can't turn it around quick then he's done. Just my opinion.
Look at the players' faces post game last night. Sickening. I smell a coach killing happening :)
It's time for a new system and a new regime. Or maybe all they need to do is win just one game to turn it around. I just don't see that on the players' faces or in their play. They look defeated mentally.
