In Vancouver radio reports are rampant that Mats is "really really close to signing with the Canucks." and indeed sources are indicating to me that the entire Canucks organization has locked it down and zero'd in on "some kind of Mats news that was surprising and came unexpectedly."

We'll see about this. We do know now that Gillis is pestering Sundin's agent non-stop, so anything can happen.
Apparently, Pratt and Taylor were mentioning that rumor mills were stating that a deal could be done within a week. At this point of the game, I would believe half of what I read or hear. Can't help but feel a bit ecstatic though. But it's too early for that.

He may, but I'm not sure if Gillis is going to quit bugging him. I guess all we wait for now is a Sundin statement or a signing announcement.

I'm pissed !! Now that Eklund has commented on Sundin coming to Van, it means its 100% NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !!

I added up his rumor list and likely destinations and I'm kidding when I say he was 94.7 % of the time wrong !! He just confirmed that Sundin is not gonna be a Canuck....Damn !!

Gill- that's true. He is going to need a lot of money to keep those guys around. Hmmm. Screw it. He should sign Sundin anyways. If he can dump Salo and maybe one other in a trade then it wouldn't be so bad.

Demitra sounds pretty certain that Sundin will sign with the Canucks. About halfway through his first media interview as a Canuck, he lets the cat out of the bag and says one of the reason he was so interested in playing here is the opportunity to play with Mats. When questioned further, he said he was optimistic about the moves Gilles wants to make (ie Sundin).

He's gonna sign here any day now, I'm convinced.
